Best-Selling Children's Author, Shelley Awad, was born in Windsor, Ontario in 1958 and currently lives in Ontario. She has one son, Aaron, and is the proud grandmother of Naomi.

She received her Journalism Diploma from St. Clair College in Windsor. Also an entrepreneur, in 1999, Shelley opened her greenhouse business, Backyard Greenhouses, specializing in residential and commercial greenhouses that she continues to sell across North America. She is also the owner of Greenhouse Style Corporation and Sika Footwear.
