Hello!  My name is Sherry.  I really admire you!  Your book, Dan Delion's Secret was great!  I read the whole book!  Your story was sooo interesting, it made me wish I could write like you.  (As you can see, I'm not that good at writing stories.)  I always try my best to write something, but it never turns out the way I wanted it.  I wonder how your writing is sooo magical, it can come right off the paper!  (I'm probably exaggerating but you get my point.)  Anyways, for a 5th grader, I already should write perfectly.  (But, on the other hand, write horribly, at least, thats what I think.)  I wish I can write waaaay better.  Besides, my writing is also very messy so just try to ignore the messy writing.  I hope you can read by sloppy handwriting.

 

I just wanted to thank you for coming to our school.  Your presentation made me really want to read both of your books "Dan Delion's Secret" and "Ghost Walk". Even though I read Dan Delion's Secret (because I borrowed a grade 4's book) I still want to read "Ghost Walk".  When you sent that flyer home, I begged my parents to buy me The Greenhouse Kids, but they thought it was too expensive (even though it was not).  Now I'm wondering if I can do more chores to get allowance.  (It's sooo unfair that I only get 5 cents each week for doing housework around the house.)  On the other hand, "Dan Delion's Secret" was really great!  I enjoyed every word in your book!  Your writing is soo wonderful, I can't even stop saying how good your story is!  This book was pefect for me.  It was detailed, had suspense, it was funny and much, much more.  On the other side, I have a few questions I want to ask you.  How do you make your stories really interesting?  How do you grab readers into the book?  (By this I mean how do you get readers want to read more.)  I hope you can answer my questions.
